The Kyoto National Museum invites students from overseas to the museum on Monday, October 8, 2007 to promote a deeper understanding of pre-modern Japanese culture and history. Admission will be free on this day to The Collections Hall, which introduces pre- and early modern Japanese and other Asian art and cultural properties in various areas such as paintings, calligraphy, sculpture, archeology, and the decorative arts. Students can also enjoy a sencha tea ceremony by the Hoenryu Tea School and receive a complimentary ticket for the autumn special exhibition Kano Eitoku (for entrance on October 16 to 28, one ticket per person).
