Rakugo, traditional Japanese comic storytelling, has a strong connection to Kyoto, the birthplace of Anrakuan Sakuden (1554-1642), father of Rakugo and Tuyu no Gorobei (d. 1703), founder of Kamigata Rakugo, a style of this storytelling developed in the Kansai area and accompanied by background music.
