As a national museum, the Kyoto National Museum has entered the second midterm of its general planning as an Independent Administrative Institution in 2006 and must now increase its own funding. For this reason, though we are aware that we are asking our museum visitors to shoulder the extra cost by this price increase, in order to actively continue and develop our acquisitions, preservation, exhibitions, and research, we must raise the admission to the museum. Furthermore, due to the forthcoming construction of a new permanent collection hall, the museum will be requiring new sources of revenue. In light of this situation, we ask for your understanding and support and apologize for this inconvenience.
