Constructed in October 1895, the Main Gate offers a spectacular view of the Special Exhibition Hall and the soft, rolling Higashiyama hills in the background. Enjoy the scenery as you enter through this gate, which was designated an Important Cultural Property with the Special Exhibition Hall in 1969. Until the construction of a new Collections Hall is over, the Main Gate closes.
