The Kyoto National Museum is OPEN, August 20–September 12, 2021
During the state of emergency issued on August 17, 2021, the Kyoto National Museum will remain open while rigorously implementing measures to prevent the spread of infections.
These protocols are subject to change depending on future circumstances. Any changes will be posted to this website and to the museum's official Twitter account (in Japanese), so please check the latest information before your visit.

About Museum Hours, Tickets, and Lecture
Open 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. (admission until 5:00 p.m.)
- There is a timed entry system in place for admission into the museum during the special exhibition National Treasures of Kyoto. Tickets can be reserved online through Lawson Tickets (website in Japanese).
There are also a limited number of same-day timed-entry tickets available at the museum on a first-come, first-served basis.
- The special exhibition National Treasures of Kyoto Commemorative Lecture will be held as scheduled.
About the Museum Shops, Cafe and Restaurant
The museum shop, Maeda Coffee café, and The Muses restaurant are open as usual.
