Japanese Archaeological Artifacts

Among archaeological artifacts unearthed in Japan, those exhibited here include stoneware and earthenware from the prehistoric Jomon Period (lasting until around 300 BC); stoneware, earthenware, and bronze ware from the Yayoi Period (roughly 300 BC – 300 AD); copper mirrors, terracotta clay haniwa figures, and unglazed sue pottery from the Kofun Period (c. third century – 538 AD); roof tiles from the Nara Period (710-794); and Heian Period (794-1185) roof tiles and artifacts unearthed from sutra mounds.
