Announcement of Museum Goods Giveaway on International Museum Day, May 18, 2024
ICOM (the International Council of Museums) has designated May 18 "International Museum Day" to recognize the important role that museums play in societies worldwide.
In celebration of International Museum Day this year, on May 18 the Kyoto National Museum will hold a special event: the first 300 people to pass by the Reference Corner on the 2nd floor of the Heisei Chishinkan Wing will be gifted with goods featuring the museum's mascot, Torarin! We hope that you enjoy visiting the museum on this special occassion.

Notes:
- *On May 18, 2024, the museum will be holding the Special Exhibition "The Legend of Sesshū: Birth of a Master Painter."
A same-day ticket for the Special Exhibition will be necessary to enter the museum. - *The giveaway event will end as soon as the goods run out.
- *Please refrain from taking goods for commercial purposes.

The theme for International Museum Day 2024 is "Museums for Education and Research."
Please note that the workshop is open to all museum visitors, but will be conducted in Japanese.
