When Monday is a national holiday, the museum remains open on Monday and closes the following day (Tuesday).
*In 2024, the museum will remain open from Monday, April 29 through Monday, May 6. On Tuesday, May 7, the museum will be closed.

Museum Hours and Admission
Museum hours vary depending on whether the museum is holding a Special Exhibition, Collection Exhibitions, or whether only the Museum Gardens are open. During Special Exhibitions, there are no separate Collection Exhibitions on view. On dates when only the Museum Gardens are open, the galleries are closed to the public. Ticket prices vary accordingly.


Collection Exhibitions
Admission fees include entry to all exhibitions on view in the Heisei Chishinkan Wing. The Collection Exhibitions are not on view during Special Exhibitions or when only the Museum Gardens are open.

Adult 700 yen University Student (ID required) 350 yen - Admission fee includes admission to all galleries in the Heisei Chishinkan Wing.
- Admission is free for high school students and other youths age 0–17, seniors over 70, visitors with disabilities and one caretaker, and for Campus Members (including faculty). Please show ID.
- Admission for school groups: Admission to the Collection Galleries is free for elementary school, middle school, and high school students on school fieldtrips as well as teachers serving as their guides.
