Human figures fishing is the subject of this painting, but these people are portrayed as an intrinsic part of nature. Ike Taiga (1727-1776), one of the greatest masters of Nanga paintings, put the greatest emphasis on nature in this work, beginning at the the bottom of the scene.
This work gives the impression of various colors, though it is painted only with ink. This impression comes from the careful use of a variety of strokes and shading techniques. It was painted when Taiga was about forty years old.
