We invite you to enjoy the Kyoto National Museum’s annual Geiko and Maiko Spring Dance.

Date and Time:: Monday, January 8, 2024
Session 1: 11:00 a.m. (doors open at 10:30 a.m.)
Session 2: 1:00 p.m. (doors open at 12:30 p.m.)
* Two performances of the same program. Each lasts approx. 30 minutes. * Theater to be emptied between performances.

Location:: Heisei Chishinkan Lecture Theater, Kyoto National Museum

Capacity:: 200 people per performance
* Non-reserved seating

Participation fee:: Free
*Please note that visitors must pay the museum entry fee on the day of the performances.

How to participate:

Reservation Period:
December 19, 10:00 a.m.–January 3, 11:59 p.m.
*Available on a first-come, first served basis. When the event capacity is reached, reservations will conclude.
How to apply:
Fill out the online application form according to the instructions below.

Please fill in all of the required fields.
* Up to 2 tickets may be reserved at a time. * Please note that applications with incomplete information will not be accepted.
After completing the online application, you will receive an automatically generated reply email verifying your registration.
* Please check that you can receive emails from the domain [@nich.go.jp]. * Contact us if you wish to cancel your application after it has been submitted. * Contact us if you do not receive a confirmation email within one week of completing the application. * You will need to present a screen displaying the email verifying your registration (or a printout) to enter the venue on the day of the performance. If multiple people are registered on the same application, they must enter the theater together.

Same-Day Tickets:
If there are tickets remaining after the online application period has ended, same-day tickets will be available within the museum. The time and location of same-day ticket distribution will be announced on this page.

Notes:

All seats are unreserved for both performances. If you would like to select your seat, please gather in front of the Heisei Chishinkan Lecture Theater 30 minutes prior to the time of the performance. If you do not have a seating preference, simply come to the venue by the starting time of the performance.
There will be dedicated time at the end of the performance for taking pictures; please refrain from taking photographs during the performance. Tripods are prohibited.
