Announcement of Museum Goods Giveaway on International Museum Day, May 19, 2026

ICOM (the International Council of Museums) has designated May 18 "International Museum Day" to recognize the important role that museums play in societies worldwide.
As the Kyoto National Museum will be closed on International Museum Day this year, a complimentary gift will be offered to the first 250 visitors on the following day, Tuesday, May 19.

South Gate Entrance, Kyoto National Museum

Eligible Recipients:
First 250 visitors

Notes:

On May 19, 2026, the museum will be holding the Special Exhibition Kitano Tenjin: Legends of a Shinto God.
A same-day ticket for the Special Exhibition will be necessary to enter the museum.
Please refrain from taking goods for commercial purposes.
