Kyoto National Museum International Students Day, Monday, January 9, 2023 (National Holiday)

Every year, the Kyoto National Museum has an International Students' Day to encourage students from around the world to deepen their understanding of Japanese culture. We hope you take this opportunity to visit the museum. No reservations required to enter the museum.

Monday, January 9, 2023 (National Holiday)
9:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m. (Entrance until 4:30 p.m.)
*Please present your student ID card when entering the museum.
Privileges:
  • Free admission to the collection exhibitions in the Heisei Chishinkan Wing.
  • Priority reservations for the New Year's event “Geiko and Maiko Spring Dance” held the same day in the museum’s Lecture Theater (January 9, 2023, two performances from 11:00–11:30 a.m. and 1:00–1:30 p.m., ticketed separately). Performances will be given in Japanese.

  • To help prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus, we ask that you wear a mask at all times, wash and disinfect your hands, take your temperature, and practice good cough etiquette when visiting the museum. If you are not feeling well on the day of your visit, we ask that you please refrain from coming to the museum.
